Google Chrome extensions for Laterstars.com

Technology on maart 21st, 2010 1 Comment

To be honest, until a few weeks ago there were no applications based on twitter that could hold my interest for more then a few days. This was until I got an invite to beta test Laterstars.

Laterstars is a services that parses the links for favorite twitter posts (you know the little star thingy) and saves them in a list. The creators describe why they made the application in this blog post. They also made some very useful bookmarklets, more info at their announcement post.

Another thing I cannot stand is clutter. And while the bookmarklets look nice in Safari, in Google Chrome they are a mess. So, on a sunny Saturday afternoon I decided to try my hand at some Google Chrome extension writing.

The result are these two plugins. The first one to visit the inbox of Laterstars, the other to add a page to Laterstars. The functionality is exactly the same as the bokmarklets, so don’t expect any surprises there.

The source is released on GitHub (Save Page,Inbox), so if anyone wants to add/edit/improve the plugins you are welcome.
